Professional since 1975. Have played in a wide variety of settings, from brass band (GUS, Swindon Pegasus et al), through to big band (Syd Lawrence, Danish Radio Big Band, Mercer Ellington Orchestra et al) and vintage bands (Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Charleston Chasers, Midnite Follies et al). As a jazz player was a member of Five-a-Slide together with Roy Williams, Pete Strange, Jim Shepherd and John Beecham, amongst many other aggregations, including dixieland bands such as those led by Ken Colyer, Keith Smith and Ireland's Original Guinness Jazzband.
Specialist in the plunger style of Joe "Tricky Sam" Nanton.
