I am a freelance professional low brass artist living and working in NYC. I play tenor and bass trombones and tuba. I've taught beginner-college and professional level players throughout the US and Europe. I was a trombone/Euphonium/jazz studies instructor at the University of Texas in San Antonio (2005-2012), NW Vista College (2011-2012), St. Mary's University (1994-1999, 2008-2010), University of the Incarnate Word (2009-2011), and Texas Lutheran University (2006-2008). I have worked with hundreds of high school students in San Antonio and Austin,Texas through my private studio. Currently, I perform as a sub on Broadway musicals (Wicked, Motown, Shuffle Along, Kinky Boots) and have performed numerous other while living in Texas. I also perform in NYC with the Jimmy Heath Big Band, Chris Potter Big Band, The Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band, Arturo O'Farrill and his Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Gregorio Uribe Latin Big Band, Memo Acevedo's Buiding Bridges Band, David Chamberlain's Band Of Bones, NY Repertory Orchestra, Queensborough Symphony Orcchestra and Chorus, and others. |

I will work with students and give them discounts when needed. I emphasize pedagogy, jazz and classical methods, technical refinements, basic training. I adjust my fee according to the student's income and need. I teach lessons in person and online on Skype. |
